I created this Day to Night digital matte painting as part of David Luong’s amazing Photoreal Matte Painting Part 1 Workshop. The original base plate photo is also shown here. For credit purposes, I think the name of the photographer was Daniel Vargas and the picture is of old ruins in Cartago. When I first stumbled on this photo, I immediately saw an opportunity to make it dark and mysterious.
